Re: Interior roof lining
No easy way I am afraid. You could get some spray adhesive cut a small hole in the cloth and spray the adhesive under the cloth. The problem you have here though is not the adhesive holding the cloth in place giving way but the foam backing in the cloth deteriorating. Once the foam backing on the wo...

Re: Numbers matching...well.. ALMOST...
I think you are right a mis stamped letter D rather than a B on the head as the numbers all match up. A well placed B stamp should cure the problem. As for the engine head colour I would dis regard that as anyone could have painted it any colour in the past. I started out with mine plain silver unti...

Re: Rear deck "KoolAire" A/C unit
Comes with a 24 month Warranty but I would imagine that is just out of date now.
There is still a company called Koolair in Florida. I wonder if it the same people?

Re: Numbers matching...well.. ALMOST...
The S Type engine was certainly prefixed with 7B. The engine number is often on early cars stamped twice on the engine. On the head behind the front valley but heads can be changed and the second place is on the side of the block above the oil filter housing. (see photo). My 1967 does not have the e...

Re: retractable belts for front seats
Good spot with the thicker material used in the last photos. This was because when I had made the plates which was difficult because the thickness of the steel and trying to bend it in a vice, I found the flat section that the inertia reel was to sit on was too wide, wider than the sill it was sat o...

Re: Vibration
Difficult to suggest anything without a lot more information but as Norman has said if the prop shaft has been removed I would start there. When removing a prop shaft I always mark the orientation between the shaft and the diff so it goes back the way it came out, same at the gearbox end. Make sure ...

Re: retractable belts for front seats
Just remember that the bottom of the "B" pillar is not designed or strong enough by itself to hold the seat belt. The eye bolt on the floor is the main point of security and the bolt I fitted at the top of the bracket which goes into the bottom of the "B" pillar is just to hold t...

Re: retractable belts for front seats
We have covered this before but I cannot find the thread in the search box. When I first fitted my inertia reels in the front I noted there was not enough room for the inertia reel block to sit between the side of the seat and the "B" pillar so I mounted it on the floor just behind the sea...

Re: Almost a unique collision
I drive my car with awareness and always leave a large gap between my self the the car in front. Problem is other drivers take this as an invitation to pull out of a side road and jump into this gap. Now my S Type has good brakes but I also drive my friends 1953 Alvis TA21 which does not have the be...
