Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
The latest update. The conversion to wire wheels has been completed and so has the Derrington steering wheel. I am happy with both, pictures below.

Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
Realized that photo makes it look dark blue because of the light. It is a R.A.F. or squadron blue in brighter light.

Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
Joe, Thanks! We had previously determined it was Cotswold Blue, even though it is listed as available to 1964 and the car is a 1965. It was built in early October 1964 as the model years were changing. The build certificate lists the color as dark blue, but it's not the dark blue poly listed on your...

Derrington steering wheel
This may already have been asked here, but I did not see it in a search. Has anyone fit a Derrington wheel with Mk2 hub to a 3.8S? I would like to fit one in my 3.8S using the original horn ring and center. In order to do so, need to use the special Mk2 hub. All say it's for Mk2 only, but I'm not su...

Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
I regret I wasn't able to finish the car, it was a rust free, straight body. Interior needed some work, but all the pieces were there. Best part was it was given to me. I thought seriously about making a vintage racer out of it. More photos here: http://www.oldirish.com/cars/jaguar/daimler/25V8.HTML

Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
Hmmm...not sure about the grill, I prefer the original. I do think the clear lenses look better on your body color. Here is a picture of my old Daimler. Loved that 2.5L hemi-head V8.

Re: Our 'new' 1965 3.8S
I owned a '66 Daimler 2.5L V8 for a time. I think there was only so much demand for the Daimler brand, plus it would have been much harder to make a more upscale 3.8S with Daimler badging. I think by the time the 420 was introduced, the decision to rebadge the Daimler version was made as cost cuttin...
