Like many, my car was fitted with a switch under the dash in the 1970s to give manual control of the choke. This works really well, because the car only really needs the choke until it gets rolling and then I can switch it off, saving fuel and bore-wash. The switch itself is a cheap plastic one you might have found in Halfrauds in 1970, but you can't see it, so it doesn't really matter.
Glyn spotted that Rob has a similarly-functioning switch but on his dashboard, using a much nicer heated rear window chrome pull-switch (C2744). All designed and installed by Rob.
Not sure if this is where the idea for yours came from, Rob, but according to the 340 model parts manual, in the final few years of the 340, cars exported to Canada do actually have a manual choke switch on the dash, using the C2744 switch, with a 'Choke' escutcheon and warning light.
So, the question is, does anyone have a photo of how/where this switch was installed on Canadian 340s?

Re: Manual choke switch
Orlando I was not aware of this choke on the 340.
I have just been going through the parts manual for the part number of the rear screen heater switch but cannot find it but what I did find on page 465 in the S Type manual is exactly what you have reproduced here for the 340. So the S Type in Canada was also fitted with an electronic choke switch but there is no drawing of it in the manual to even see what it should look like.

Re: Manual choke switch
Interesting. Thanks, Rob. I missed that. I'll post on the other forum that has more North American contributors.
