Hi. 1964 3.4 MOD.
After filling up petrol no start when pushing start button. Started by pushing button on the solenoid. Trouble shooting showed that current reach the solenoid, some thing broken inside. Appears not made to be opened and repaired as it looks like the metal case is crimped around the black « plastic» were the electric connectors are.
Have anyone had any succes with opening it? And repair? Are any springs and parts coming flying out if opened?
Thenks, Harald

Re: Starter solenoid switch
Not had one apart and to be truthful it is probably more hassle trying to take it apart to find out what is wrong and then trying to fix it when at SNG Barrett they are only £ 36.85 for a new one. https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/UK ... 0C30287%60

Re: Starter solenoid switch
Thaks, you are right. Was more of curiosity. Allways wanted to know how things looks on the inside. Have got hold of a replacement and car is back to normal service. It’s a reproduction part and obviously cheaper made. But the original lasted 60 years and this will probably outlast me.
Maybe I open it one day..
