I'm not quite sure what the intended outcome of this mod is, if it's to get more power out of the engine a set of 2" SU's would be better. I have fitted them along with Guy Broad intakes including high density foam filters. They have been on for the last twenty years and haven't killed the engine yet.

The goal was to increase performance and spend as little as possible.

Performance was measured and modeled by flow, pressure and air temp.

The metal mesh filters were $45.00.

The velocity stacks (2) were .12 cents.

A little US ingenuity goes a long way.

"The goal was to increase performance and spend as little as possible"

My objective was the same, the 2" SU's that were scavenged from a scrap 420 back in 1986 and were eventually rebuilt with a kit from Burlen Fuel and the velocity stacks and filters cost about 45 pounds.

British cheapskate ingenuity.
