Note the long & short screws are shouldered. That shoulder goes up against the chrome Bezel. The holes in the Bezel are only large enough to accept the threaded portion/diameter of the screws. If you get the correct size plastic insert the screws will cut their own threads in the plastic & expand the insert to give an absolutely secure fit. There is no need to add a non original nut to the screws.

Fog lamps are no longer available & the sealed beam no longer made. You will have to keep an eye on Ebay. The Rover P5B used the same fog light. The FT6 sealed beam is used in other Lucas fog lamps such as the "Pathfinder" that are more plentiful on Ebay. You might have to buy a complete light assembly just for a good sealed beam. The final sealed beams branded Lucas FT6 were made by Mazda IIRC.

I have a box of three or four Lucas FT6 sealed beams as spares that I have found for sale at Auto Jumbles as they are no longer made. If you see one buy it and Squirrel it away as you never know when you might need a spare.

Exactly what I have done with nice new ones Rob! :) The filaments are very fragile in working used ones dependent on use.

I have a pair of fog lights from a MK2 jag how close are they to fitting on the S type, I have never tried but they look very much like those as fitted.

the MK-2 Fog Rangers are approximately 1" inch smaller in diameter than the S type's.

the buckets and "horn grilles" are also smaller in the MK-2.

I have seen S type Fog Rangers fitted to MK-2 and they protrude a lot because they are larger lamps.

I have a pair of original S type sealed beam Fog Rangers for sale but not cheap :D

the chrome is in excellent condition, from a 1966 S type. I replaced the hollow threaded center mounting bolts because the rear outside section was deteriorated.
