I have found a very good set of leather seats (ambla at the moment) but they are from a 420, that got me to think are they interchangeable and is there any different if they are from an automatic or manual (fit over the centre console.
Many thanks for Any advice
S-type/420 seats
Re: S-type/420 seats
Hi Sam. There are lots of things that interchange between the S Type and 420 and I believe the seats are one of them. It does not, as far as I am aware, matter if the car is a manual or Auto as the tunnel end prior to the front of the seats. The tunnel on the Auto is bigger to accommodate the bigger gear box but should not interfere with the seats. My friend had a manual until recently which I drove on several occasions and I cannot recall there being a difference in the seat design.

Re: S-type/420 seats
Hi Cass3958 many thanks for the info, my fear was that the seats would be different because of the size of the tunnel off the auto. One other thing that I have seen but cannot find again is the reclining levers are in different positions between a s-type/420.
Many thanks

Re: S-type/420 seats
Reclining lever positions differed on the S Type seats between early and later cars. I think you'll find the later design was carried into the 420 but it basically makes no difference to the actual fitting of the seat..
