Interesting David and not disputing that fact as I know your car is all original but the tubes on mine which I assume are original as they came with the car are or were clear plastic tubes. (Discoloured now with age). I can think of no reason why the one previous owner of my car would change them as they do not wear out. Is there a possibility that in later cars, mines as you know is Sept 1967 built, that they changed to clear hoses? Maybe one of the money saving ideas they came up with to reduce costs as rubber was perhaps more expensive than plastic hose.David Reilly wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 5:25 pm Just a minor point. The original tubes were black .

Re: Air Cleaner
This was typical of the nylon hosing used on SA cars. (aged) ~ Yes I know this pic is in fuel application.cass3958 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:49 pmInteresting David and not disputing that fact as I know your car is all original but the tubes on mine which I assume are original as they came with the car are or were clear plastic tubes. Re: Air Cleaner
Glyn that is what my hoses look like. Are you saying these are Nylon not plastic?
John the SNG hose you have linked to is the hose that comes from the metal drain pipe for the Scuttle on the bulkhead and allows the water to run down the side of the gearbox. We have mentioned this is a previous topic as we discussed where the line of the hose run should be.

Re: Air Cleaner
I was always told they were nylon Rob. Today one will just have to use what one can get. (preferably fuel resistant)
