Scuttle vent cover rubber fitting.

Post by jonesdl »

Appreciate if somebody could advise the correct side the scuttle rubber fits into the body recess. Unfortunately my scuttle rubber had disintegrated when removed from the car and the new rubber has a smooth curved edge side and a raised lipped side, it could fit either way but it must have a right way under the cover.
My question is what side does the lipped raised side go into the body recess or up under the vent scuttle cover ?.
I have looked at several photo's but cannot see what side is up on the rubber.
Many thanks, just trying to finish some of the loose ends.
Regards

You may have missed my question about the scuttle vent cover rubber chaps, appreciate if you could let me know the side the rubber fits under the cover, flat side or lipped side up? when stuck to the body..
My original question became tangled up with all the spams unfortunately.

Dave ~ I mounted mine flat side up as my car & 2 tacky donors were that way. Some of them are a poor fit.

Many thanks for the info, I thought the flat side should be up and the lipped part into vent / heater recess, but then thought perhaps the lip stopped any water going to the recess. Thanks for clarification another job to tick off.
