The idea is of making the car sound proof and smooth as much as possible. What worries me is wether the glue would withstand summer heat if left outside for a long stretch of time.

It sounds sort of like heavy rain with large droplets! lol.

As I have never had pads I would not know the difference and to be truthful never had it out in a real rain storm just drizzle. With hindsight I think I would have fitted sound insulation but it was not in the car when I stripped it and therefor I was not aware that it should or could have gone back in. Five years ago this forum did not exist so there was no one to ask the question of.

My dome anti drumming pads have been there since 1965 so no issue there. Maybe you should send a message to Dynamat & ask the valid question & your concerns about adhesion long term.

Lol! :D Yes understood!!

I think I would at least do the floors, tunnel, under rear seat & parcel shelf if you can get around to it.

Many restorers do apply Dynamat to the dome so I suggest you ask Dynamat for preparation instructions if you choose to go there.

You have a post approx mid 66 car with the panel headlining centre. This would mean you would not have to do a very neat & flat job. For those of us with earlier cars where the foam backed Union Cloth headliner is glued to the dome the anti-drumming pads have to be perfectly attached with neat seams taped over or you will have visible lumps in the roof lining.

This is why I did not blast my original pads off of the dome.

Surely not, I think his intention is to show that the company producing the insulation uses it underneat the top.
