there is no sign of a vinyl roof, or glue anywhere, or a respray.

that is exactly what I don't understand.

the patina looks consistent all around. Metal is not rusted or pitted. Looks like the chrome windscreen trim had been removed a long time ago.

Let's hope there are some markings on the back of them. I would love to know their origins. Maybe the original owner did not like Lyons original C Pillar design & had them made. :?:

Yes ~ I still think a vinyl roof the most likely reason for their manufacture. Strange you found no sign of glue. :?:

that car looks very elegant with a vinyl covered roof, not that I would do it to mine. and they ruined it with those wheels!

I have a set of those wheels in my shed if anyone is interested, very popular for club racing.

Agree ~ wheels are a disaster.

That vinyl roof looks good because it stops at the right place on the C Pillar. I don't like it when they bring it down lower & run a strip under the back window.

Mine are original Wolfrace wheels that I had on my car some years ago. Sorry changed the subject again!
