Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
The reason the right hand side seems so bad is that there has been a minor engine fire at some point. Thats why the paint on the inner arch has gone and probably why it is so rotten with the paint being scorched, no rust protection. Half of the sound deadening under the bonnet was all melted and had...

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
The sills have been done badly at some point so there is still a good bit of strength in the shell. Going to get a couple of hours on it today to start cleaniing things up underneath and form a plan of action.

As can be seen, there is a lot of work needed on the offside.

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
Removed the engine and gearbox and also the IRS yesterday. Next up is to brace the chassis after getting some more of the interior out. After that, will remove whats left of the right hand chassis rail and order up 2 new full length chassis rails and the associated cross member parts. I can then get...

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
Carbs removed, the bottom 2 bolts of the fan shroud are solid so will get them from the underneath tomorrow to get the rad out and then the fan off. The right hand engine mount is partially collapsed as well so will be fun. I don't think the car will be going too high on the ramp! I think the front ...

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
Its not looking very pretty under there. The front cross member doesn't seem to be attached to anything on that side! Not very good at all.

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
I picked up the car on Monday and brought it back to my garage. It is certainly needing a lot of work. Hopefullly not too much to make it not salvageable. The front subframe mounting points are nnot fantastic from what I can see so will need much repair. I need to make some additional space to store...

Re: 1966 3.4 Auto
NIce to see the tool tray was still with it with a good few of the tools there as well. The jack is missing though. I am hoping it is not the same as an E type one as they are rather pricey! The fuel pumps are off either side as well. I picked up a pair of NOS Mk2 ones a few years ago so they may co...

Re: Disappearing brake fluid
If is is disappearing and no leaks, it will be filling up the inside of your servo. They can occasionally fill up without the fluid being sucked into the engine. How much is it loosing? I had the same on an old Lotus ELan
