Re: 3.8s auto or manual
My advice for what is worth is to look for a manual overdrive post 1966 to get the better gearbox (not Moss). I have a 1964 early S Type that came with a DG250 auto that was a loathsome contraption that leaked oil despite pulling it out and rebuilding it with all new seals and gaskets. By the way th...

Re: Brake. Pedal adjustment
Has the master cylinder been replaced? Could be the wrong one with a longer actuating rod. Can be sorted out with a spacer between the cylinder and the pedal box, this will raise the cylinder thus lowering the pedal.

Re: Fuel level sender ohms range?
Have a look at Martin Roby's website for fuel parts. They have the sender units and most of the other parts needed for an install.

Also fuel tanks although rather expensive, when I bought a pair they were £130 each.

Re: Interior roof lining
The rear window surround can be removed without taking out the screen as it's clipped in using the same clips as used on the door cards. I had to completely remake mine as water had leaked passed the screen seal and rotted the trim out. I used what was left as a template out and remade it out of har...

Yes that's correct, only when the mounts are tight do up the stabiliser also if your car has them, the stabilisers under the front of the engine connected to the front suspension cross beam after the mounts

Re: Inboard Rear Calipers
If you can't find any S Type calipers have a look at Zeus brakes https://www.zeus.uk.com/product-category/classic-callipers-jaguars/ that are a direct replacement at a reasonable price compared to having original one rebuilt. Be careful of "over braking" the rear brakes as the balance coul...
