I took my carburetors off this week and realized that I'm missing both the short spring and the "Y" bracket. The long return spring that runs down to the oil filter housing exists, and seemed to do an adequate job closing the throttles. However, I'd like to have both, for originality and p...

Got it started ... Since May: Installed a new gear starter. As many have noted, getting the old starter out and getting a new one in was a major project, with some missteps along the way. New distributor cap, and several attempts to set the point gap correctly. Cranked but didn't start. Re-terminate...

I drained and filled the radiator on Saturday. The car has been sitting dormant for years, and only about a quart came out. Cass, thank you for the advice about the felt pad. I pulled it off to see what was behind - fortunately no rust. This car seems to have spent a lot of time baking in the sun, but must have been kept fairly dry.
