Should not be a big deal.

Good luck,
Trouble is — it's finding a good upholstery shop in South-West UK who is willing to have a go (and do it well!). Any suggestions?

The owner is Guy and I have had work done there so recommend them. Everytime I go down to his workshop it is like walking into a classic car museum. Jaguars, Aston Martins, classic minis, Talbots, Triumphs. They change around every week. There might be a waiting list so contact him now and you might get it done by the end of spring.lol.

This piece goes behind the dash on the centre section below the switches. There is a plastic piece which sits at the bottom with the names of the switches on it. This sits on top that plastic plate but under the wood so you will only be able to see the very small front piece of it when in place.
Attached is a photo of a spare I have. I think they are stainless steel so do not know why you have sent it away to be chromed.

Perfect Rob....I will take a look at it tomorrow. Why I had it chromed.....I don't know. Sure looks good. Let's hope it still fits with it being chromed. Thanks for responding and figuring it out. Hope all is well.

No! ~ they are chromed. You see a few rusted ones around. Had mine rechromed.
