Nigel ~ I see you have used my picture.

As original they are supposed to have a single/friction heat seal across the top below the wood. You make the roll when installing.

Thanks for that Glyn, when mine first turned up they were the same as the incorrect version in pic 2. Just looked like Joe's cards had no roll.

I remember now that the cards are secured at the very top with small self tapping screws and the vinal is glued over the roll on to the door frame and under the wood.

Yes ~ correct. Some manufacturers omit that top heat seal line & it does not look right. Joe's panels have the heat seal lines in the right place. His pics have little shadow to highlight them. Vinyl is glued to door casing under the wood.

Found pics of originals with wood removed. Shows single heat embossed line, formation of roll & how glued to the door casing. Blow up for detail.

Ugh! I had wondered what isn't quite right about my doors and now, of course, I can see that at some stage somebody obviously replaced the door cards with new ones which are missing that roll.

Roughly how much would new BAS ones cost with the correct roll? This 'mistake' is all I can see now in an interior which otherwise I love!

I would not buy a new door card....just take it to an upholstery shop and have them remove the wood, peel down the material, and add a role.

Should not be a big deal.

Good luck,

As Joe said, when I bought mine they set me back about £500 from BAS.

Mine are from John Skinner. I don't know what he charges these days. I would fix what you have.
