Hello,
I never registered on this forum before, but my car was allready registered in 2000.
I own P1B59272 a 3.8S type from 1967, RHD original, converted in 2000 to LHD.
I even met David Reilly in 2001 here in the Netherlands.
I still own the car, this year I converted the old tired DG250 to a T700R4 Automatic Transmission ( Using a John's car kit )
That is a great upgrade, no more the allways leaking DG250, and the T700R4 has a Overdrive.
But I own more old jags now ( a XK140FHC and a XK150FHC )
Regards,
Peter Jan

Peter Jan,
So pleased to hear from you.
The story of P1B59272BW is in Newsletter Vol. 2, No, 8.
It has been a long time since I was picked up at my hotel in Amsterdam by Peter Jan in his beautiful two-tone 'S'-type and enjoyed the hospitaity of the Rush home.
We would love to hear the story of the car since then.
Cheers
David

yes, I would be interested in seeing how John's Cars Kit coupled with the original shifter and P D 2 1 R indicators.
in my car I replaced the Amber front Turn Signal lenses with Clear lenses and used Amber Bulbs instead.
Wonderful car!

Good looking car. Never seen a two tone up close and personal. Very unusual.

Hello,
About the gear indicator, I managed to get a ( P,R,N,D2,D1,L) plate ( used on early E-type Auto, with column shift)
John's car also provides a new metal plate for the locks in the shifter,
All looks OK, but still working to get the right gear on the box versus the Shifter.
Seems the levers on the box needed to be longer.
Here some Pictures.

that problem also happens with John's Car kit ror the XJ-6. the shifting points do not match the indicator or the Shifter Gate.
There is a firm in the UK which might help you resolve this. They specialize in retrofit transmissions for classic cars. G. Whitehouse Autos Ltd.
