There is information on head colours in Newsletters Vol 2, No 5 and Vol 7, Nos 3&4.
It would be useful to continue the discussion there for the archives

Yes, that blue is quite a bit different, isn't it? Was your engine originally assembled in South Africa? My blue was darker when first applied, but as soon as the engine was run, turned to its current colour.
Yes my engine was machined and assembled in South Africa which could be partly the reason. However in my global job I have seen concours & original cars with both your colour blue & mine in the US & Australia, Thailand, Germany etc. So I have no doubt that both colours were used by Browns Lane over time. Also lots of Mk2's with the darker blue.

US same as yours & mine.

If you ask Jose nicely he has the power to cut and paste items in to new topics for us as the Moderator.
We have a problem on this forum that one topic with a heading leads on to other topics that can then get buried under the original heading and can not be found again in a search. Jose can sort most problems out of this nature.

I've moved or merged posts from one topic to a new one to avoid the mix of subjects we are doing. This always results is "orphan" posts or quoted posts without the original post.

It is more productive to have a separate topic for every question or subject that comes up.

Let's give it a try. If anyone has any question, start a new Topic instead of asking it in an already different topic thread.

It was a beautiful day here in Rutland and the first 2019 classic car meet slightly overwhelmed the local garden centre. The poor punters who'd just come in for a plant or two had nowhere to park! I had a sit in the 1959 Armstrong Siddeley, which also has the DG gearbox, with variable speed intermediate speed hold, controlled by a slider on the dashboard! Amazing.

Thanks, Glyn!

It's not often I come across another S-type at a local car meet, but it did happen in 2017 at Barrowden, Rutland. I should say that an hour earlier, the village green had been full. It's a beautiful car, restored by an engineer in Derby. Everything has been done, including the wood and leather.
