Jaguar XJ6 & MG Frog Midget

Finally called time on my XJ6, it has driven me to distraction! Every time I've gone to use it something goes wrong (usually expensively) so enough is enough and time to move it on. Having had my fill of tyre kickers and time wasters trying to sell it I decided to put it through the auctions, I decided to send it with the MG Frogeye that my wife has lost interest if after getting her new Mini to Mathewsons Auctions in Yorkshire. They specialise in classic cars and are famous for the TV program Bangers and Cash and have auctions once a month so the theory was a quick sale before the new year.

The XJ had to fight me one last time as on the day of the departure via the transport company one of the fuel pumps stopped working and had to be given a whack to free the points after dismantling half the boot to get at them, then all the electric windows packed up - never happened before and were working fine the day previously. Didn't get time to sort that out unfortunately.

They were both sold at the weekend for a lot more than I was expecting as I sent them up there with no reserve on both of them. This has now given me cash that is burning a hole in my bank account and will be directed to the S Type enabling new projects for next year including an electric power steering setup and sorting out the front bumper that was accidently dented at a car show this year when it (me) rearranged the scenery. I'll do a write up on the steering as it goes on but first I going to remove the manual steering box and have it overhauled by a firm in Birmingham due to a small leak and make sure it's in good order.
