Indicator units

Post by Sam01 »

Hi, hope everyone is doing well, I am looking for a pair of front indicators (hopefully complete) for a jaguar 1968 s-type.
Regards Dave.

David I have spare Amber lenses but not the indicator bodys. Unfortunately these are made of really cheap alloy and being where they are tucked into the corner of the front wing with no protection from what the road wheels throw up they tend to rot out.
Part numbers are C33943 LH casing and C33942 RH casing.
Neither are available from SNG online but they might have a supply if you call them. There is a new LH lamp on EBay but they want £344 for it.
The front indicator on the S Type was also used on the 420 and Mk10/420G if that helps.

There is a pair on ebay in Hull right now bid at 20 pounds each. Condition not great.

Keep trying. They come up quite often from various vendors. I had no trouble finding perfect NOS by being patient. Watch Barratts ~ they float in and out of stock.

When searching the internet also search Lucas L690 ~ frequently the way they are listed.

Martin Robey shows aftermarket copies at 134 pounds per side. From previous experience suggest you phone before ordering.

Hi Dave,

Over the years I've purchased several sets, so I have some to sell. None of mine are perfect, and as others have said, it's very difficult to successfully re-chrome the bases. I did get a couple to come out wel, and they are now on my car.
What is it that you are after? I can supply a reasonable set, but they are not as new, but passable. If you are interested, drop me a p.m. and we can discuss, and I'll attempt to send you some pictures.

Regards, Richard

Many thanks for all replies, as you have said we're they are fitted is not good and mine have rotted through. It's good to know about them also being fitted to other cars. The search goes on.

They sold for GBP225. With a new copy from Robey's selling for 135 + VAT per side for someone building a concours car they were a steal.
