Odd phenolic carb insulator

I need some advice folks. I am about to put the refurbished carbs back on my 65 3.8 and see that the existing phenolic insulators have an odd notch in them - see picture. Has anybody seen insulators like this? Should I replace them with new ones or will they be OK as they are?

I cannot remember what my old ones looked like (went straight in the bin) but the new ones I fitted five years ago did not have that notch and I can think of no reason for it but there must be one if fitted from factory.

Thanks Rob. They may or may not be original. I really have no idea. Looks a bit dodgy to me. None of the gaskets have a matching cutout.

Roland,
Those are Part no. C.7461 and there is a gasket on each side Part No C.2368.
I have originals in a gasket head set I bought in 1967 - no notch.
Cheers
