Re: One-family-owned from new 3.8S
Yes my engine was machined and assembled in South Africa which could be partly the reason. However in my global job I have seen concours & original cars with both your colour blue & mine in the US & Australia, Thailand, Germany etc. So I have no doubt that both colours were used by Browns Lane over time. Also lots of Mk2's with the darker blue.Orlando St.R wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 10:20 am Wow, you could eat your dinner off that engine, Glyn!
Yes, that blue is quite a bit different, isn't it? Was your engine originally assembled in South Africa? My blue was darker when first applied, but as soon as the engine was run, turned to its current colour.
US same as yours & mine.

We have a problem on this forum that one topic with a heading leads on to other topics that can then get buried under the original heading and can not be found again in a search. Jose can sort most problems out of this nature.
1968 S Type 3.4 Auto. Old English White.
1993 Yamaha FJ1200 Yellow
1966 Ford Anglia 1760 cross flow (still being built)

It is more productive to have a separate topic for every question or subject that comes up.
Let's give it a try. If anyone has any question, start a new Topic instead of asking it in an already different topic thread.

Thanks, Glyn! The "GUV" looking splendid in the sunshine!
It's not often I come across another S-type at a local car meet, but it did happen in 2017 at Barrowden, Rutland. I should say that an hour earlier, the village green had been full. It's a beautiful car, restored by an engineer in Derby. Everything has been done, including the wood and leather.
