One for Jose

Post by cass3958 »

Jose this is the new Alvis we now have on the wedding fleet. A 1953 TA21 Tickford bodied three position drophead coupe. Still right hand drive as they should be. This has a 3 litre straight six engine with a Grey Lady modified head and is capable of 100 mph. On drum brakes I don't think I will ever get close to that but it will do 70 along the motorway all day long until the head gasket goes. £200 for the head gasket and we are waiting for the head to come back from the machine shop before we can re-assemble the engine. I have a wedding booked in for her on the 1st of September so we might have a late night this week. Not owned by me but by my best mate Steve.
The first two photos are from the day that we picked it up two years ago.
The other photos were taken by me outside the Belvedere Castle at Haldon nr Exeter.

Thank you Cass but that thing looks like a Bentley? Are you sure it is an Alvis?

The red one does look like an Alvis.

Definitely an Alvis. When you compare it against the red one we had you can see it is just a two door version and all the lines are the same.

It was OK on my screen but I have reduced the pixels for you. Is this OK now?
