Re: Newby here with some questions please !
We discussed paint colours on this topic http://www.jagstyperegister.com/forum_n ... 3804#p3804 where there is a post with a chart of the Jaguar S type colours used. I have reproduced it below for you.
This is dated 1963 to 1964 and I know that there is another chart somewhere showing colours that were added to this list for later cars. When I first changed the colour of my car to Old English White according to this chart my interior should have been Red or Tan but as my car is a late car, 1968, the later chart I have seen states that you could also have a black interior with Old English White which my car has. If someone can find that later chart and post it I would appreciate it.

Yes that would be usefull ! By ending the MK2 in 67, may be their colours could be possible for the laters S then (?).
Cass, in my research I saw indeed in FR, BE and DE some OEW with black trim
(but I can't be sure if they are OEW or White..)

White body colour was for Police only. By 67 Old English White had been replaced by Cream. The same applies to the Mk2, 240 & 340 which is why I have not printed them out separately (I have them should you want them). Colours were reduced on all cars & no opalescents. Upholstery became Ambla (Vinyl) with leather as an extra cost option. The Ambla is tough stuff & requires little attention. Leather can outlast Ambla but with a huge amount of endless attention & feeding. Should not be compared with modern leather processing.

There are several shades of Old English white starting at a white that I would say was Snow White and has the paint code WT1. There is an intermediate OEW which is what I think Jaguar would class as OEW and has the paint code WT2. I went for the creamiest colour of OEW which has the paint code WT3 and it might be this that Jaguar has listed as Cream.Fredomusicman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 11:40 am Yes that would be usefull ! Attached is a photo of my car with two other S Types. One is Sand Gold the other one is OEW but the middle shade paint code WT2. You can see the difference in the colour of the two OEW cars.

Exactly Rob. Your car is what Jaguar would list as cream. I always notice it in your wedding shots vs other OEW S Types & it looks good. A bit more character. It's like BRG is in fact a number of different colours. Mine is the 1976 XJ6 version with some red toner in it.

Lots of people who comment on the colour call it Ivory but I think it is as you say cream. When we first painted the car and I saw it with its new top coat in the Sun light for the first time trim I thought it looked too yellow. Once the car had been trimmed up though and the chrome and glass fitted the colour did not look so yellow and I like it which is all that matters.
