Oil Filter - spin on

In the midst of an oil change, and note that the spin on filter is an EAZ1354.
Google suggests that this type suits the Jaguar V8 engine ?!
What spin on filters are in use by the group please ?
I am in Oz....Cheers, Muzz.

I converted mine a couple of years ago to a system from https://www.flexolite.co.uk/cat.asp?cID ... R_ADAPTORS I cannot recomend this company high enough. I order the filter adapter at 1630 on a Friday afternoon and it arrived at 1000 on the Saturday. Great back and willing to advise.
My system is fitted with a Mann W/916/1 filter which I can buy at my local auto suppliers or on line. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/249114413?iid=143711696683

Mann + Hummel filters are outstanding.

I would like to do the spin on filter conversion some time - is it possible to do it with the engine in place? And if its possible, is it advisable to try?
1965 3.8S Automatic. Light blue, dark blue interior. J65P1B77162BW. Acquired 2019. Being refurbished. Now running and drivable, but not ready for prime time. :D

Fitting the kit I got from https://www.flexolite.co.uk/cat.asp?cID ... R_ADAPTORS was very easy and done from under the car with the engine in situ.

All you do is remove the original oil filter and insert the brass adapter screw in to the existing central bolt hole which also secures the aluminum adapter plate against the original seal on the housing. (See the photo on the web page via the link above). Tighten this up and then the new filter canister screws on to this adapter screw and seals up against the adapter plate. half and hour at the most to fit.

Very easy and no having to fiddle with the old filter trying to get it to sit against the seals correctly. No leaks on my new system and I have changed the filter at least twice since installing the new system. Being screw on, screw off it is very easy to get to and change.

Thanks for that. I was picturing it being a horror job with the engine in place. I have done an oil change and it was not exactly easy without a lift. but I got it done. I have a stock of old style oil filters that I will never use up if I change to a spin-on.

I am sure there is a market for them to be sold and the profit will pay for the new filter system.

As Rob has said, the spin on filter conversion is easily completed on the Jaguar XK engines. Really, all you are doing is inserting a spacer between the engine and your new spin on filter.

It makes filter changing a clean and easy job. I always weigh new spin on filters and then repeat the exercise with the dirty filter. I leave the dirty filters draining overnight to get a sensible comparison of the dirt trapped. Usually they double their weight.

You will find Flexolite are fairly good, they have been in the filtering business for some years. I must declare a past interest because I did the initial drawings for their EPW Bentley/ R/R filter adaptors as the oil filter flows are the reverse of the automotive normal.

Looking at this conversion I am thinking it would have been much easier to do while I had the carburetors off. With them on I guess it has to be done from below.
