grille wanted

Post by Horse Power Junkie »

Hi guys, I'm looking for a grille, or at least the middle bar. Mine is terrible bended and teared, beyond repair I think.

I am no help. I have a spare outer and inner grill but I am missing the central bar. My previous owner seemed to have driven into something or someone reversed in to him and my vertical centre bar was cracked so I bought a whole secondhand front grill and swapped the central bars over.
Two on E bay one at £75 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-MK2-R ... SwThtbZXtk and the other at £120 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYP ... SwHn9bnA3T
The second one is a genuine S Type grill which I believe has a wider outer chrome surround than the Mk2 surround. Always nice to have spares.
Keep looking though as often the centre bar comes up by itself and is cheaper.

Thanks for the ebay-link, I've had a MK2 for comparison, but that won't fit in any way. needs to be an S-type just like the one on ebay.

yes, the S type grille is "flatter" than the MK2 grille which is more "egg shaped" when you look at it from the side.

I believe I might have two centre bars. One has a crack in it and I forget just how bad it might be now and I also have an NOS one in its original wrappings. I am not sure how to post photos on this site, but I can worry about that later if you are interested. BTW ... I live just outside of Vancouver BC, Canada.

Just a word of warning. There were 2 grill assemblies fitted to S Types. One to fit the nose panel modification on later cars. (No external shape change to bodywork)

The centre vane remained common to both but not the rest of the grill.

Hi Harv,

I'm interested, what are you asking for the center bar? Shipping will be to the Netherlands.

Thanks in advance,

I am not sure how much to ask for them John. Maybe an offer? The shipping from Canada might really be expensive. I am not sure how to attach a photo of them using this site so contact me at mcculloughh@shaw.ca
