Water leak

Post by johngosnell »

The car has not moved for a while, and yesterday Most peculiar I found a water leak that looks quite bad, I checked the top of the radiator and it still showed as being full, so how can I loose water without the rad going down?.

It was a hot day in the UK yesterday John so if the car was in the Sun everything would have expanded and it has possibly leaked out of the over flow. Can't think of another reason if the car has not been used and the water level is still to the top of the radiator. Check the level again over the weekend when the temperature drops and see if the level drops with it.

The Problem located and fixed, it was found that there was a leak from the thermostat housing, i'm not sure why the water level in the rad never dropped but she is now dry as a bone.
