John Quilter wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:40 pm Well just for laughs I went out and checked my 1969 Austin and it has a label but it is part of the plate that also shows the VIN and is attached to the hood shut panel.
So is your Austin a LHD USA import or a RHD UK car that has been exported?

It's an Austin America (AKA Austin 1300) sold new in the USA with LHD in 1969 and owned by me since 1971.

Lovely little car and not many still around even in the UK. I had the 1300 engine from an Austin 1300 in a Mk1 Mini I owned in the 1970s. Same BMC A series engine used in the MG midgets, Austin A35, A40, Allegro and Metros, Riley Hornets, Morris minors. Such a versatile engine from 997 to 1275cc and had a Turbo fitted, Used between 1951 and 2000.
