Are you talking about the alloy pots on top of the carbs? If so I have taken mine off and given them a good polish on a polishing wheel. Come up a treat.

Yes the dashpot tops, In the past for example I used to spend hours polishing the crank shaft covers on my old triumph T90 but now I can't reach anything to clean, and it is not right to keep asking my kids to clean the engine alloy bits. I know that chrome covers are available because many years ago I had a triumph TR7 and they had chrome covers on the carbs when I bought it.

There is no reason why you cannot have your existing pots chromed and your cam covers. You could have them back in a week and it would be cheaper than buying new chrome parts I would have thought.

That's a good idea, never thought about that. I will have to investigate.
