Rear Bumper

Post by DevilDog »

On the SNG website, the part number 81-60 says that the bracket was superseded with the motor mount. SNG confirmed this. However, they cannot get the rest of the brackets, i.e., 81-61, 81-62, and 81-63?
Here is a photo from the parts manual. Anyone have a source??????

Joe, Those rear bumper brackets (61, 62, 63 X 2) are a real problem if you don't have used to refurbish or copy. Robeys are the last people I know that had & they are cleaned out.

You are going to have to find used from somebody that is breaking a car. Remember 420 is the same. My spares were so bad that we tossed them in the skip or I would send them to you as patterns ~ sorry!

Archive forum http://www.jagstyperegister.com/forum/v ... pers#p1193 relates to an article I wrote on my new stainless steel bumpers I had made by a company called the HArrington Group. They can be found here. https://groupharrington.com/product/jag ... e-bumpers/
When I sent out my old bumpers to them as a former for the new stainless steel bumpers they also received my old brackets which were rusty and damaged as I had to cut them off. I asked them to make up new brackets for me which they did and they sent them with the new bumpers. They said this was a one off and would not be offering them with the new bumpers and this is noted on the advert about that no brackets are supplied. But I am sure that if there was a demand they would supply them especially if you told them they were no longer available elsewhere. They have the drawings I made with dimensions and the brackets they supplied me fit perfectly. Worth contacting them to find out if they can supply the brackets to register members.
Below is a photo of the stainless steel bumpers and all the bracketry that I received with them.

Rob,

They do not make them and they do not have your specs. Too bad.

Do you by chance have a copy?

Joe I have gone one better than a drawing. In my box of many things I came across two bumper brackets. One for the back and one for the side of the bumper mounts. If you PM me your address I will send both of these to you and you can get your man to copy them for your bumper. They are both in good condition with some surface rust. Sorry I do not have two of each to save you the trouble of having to make some.
