Looking closely at your photo Nigel and you appear to have the chrome moulding around the bottom of the Vinyl roof on the C pillar.
Do you not have any photos of the car from the rear?
Did you remove the chrome when you had it resprayed green and removed the Vinyl roof?

That's a lovely period photo, Nigel. The paint looks similar to the colour my car was/is.

Wheels are very personal things. I like racing S Types on Compomotive Minilite wheels.

The chrome trim around the rear C pillar was made of plastic and glued on. I sprayed it Rover Mexico Brown in that '77 photo, anything was better than the hand painted Willow Green it was when I bought it. I do all my own paint by the way.

Back in the '70's just about every racing Mk2 and S Type were fitted with those Wolfrace slot mags as at the time they were the best wheels you could get. I also have a set of Minilites in the shed I took off my S Type before I fitted the Dunlop D Type racing wheels.

Dunlop D Type racing wheels also look great! It's like Rudge wheels on a 300SL Benz.

The Wolfrace slot mags might well be the best for racing. I have zero experience in that area with Jaguar. My comments are personal aesthetic preference for what little it's worth.

Just to show how extensive the Wolfies were used a few photos from my archive, note even on the XJ.
