60th anniversary of the Mk2

Post by cass3958 »

For those of you in the UK here is a date for your diary!

On Saturday 1st June 2019 there will be a major event at Classic Works, Coventry to mark the 60th anniversary of the Mk2 and it's sister compact Jaguars which will include no doubt the S Type. Admission will be free.
Further details will be posted in due course so for the moment just keep the date free as it would be nice to get a selection of S Types together for the day and meet up for a chat and a cup of coffee.

I've registered as well.

Might be an idea to add your name to the list using the reply function so we can get an idea of who is going.

I have registered via E mail and waiting for a reply. My intention is to travel up the night before and stop over in a hotel so I can get to the meet nice and early.
It would be nice if all the S Types that are registering from this forum could meet up somewhere close to the JLR Classic Works so we can all drive in and park up together rather than being spread across the site mixed with lesser Mk2s. lol.

I'd like to suggest a meeting place:

Texaco, Mangrove Service Station
London Rd, Rugby CV23 9LG

https://maps.app.goo.gl/9w9wh

It has a Travelodge and a McDonald's onsite as well as fuel.

Sounds good for me. I have just booked in to the Travel lodge for the Friday night. Only £24 for the nights accommodation if you book now nice and early.
