Re: S-type FIA homologation document, 1966

This is a GREAT find. In all my years of research, I had no idea that the 'S'-type was homologated.
The interesting thing, to me, is that Jaguar waited until they had actually produced 5000 cars. Not like some we all know who never reached 5000 of their homologated models.
Keep on 'S'-type-ing!

A great weekend trip

Last weekend we drove our ‘S-type on a 450-mile round trip, towing our 1928 BSA, to join 235 other British cars at “The Gathering” at Shelton Vineyards in North Carolina. We have found that the best, most comfortable, speed in this car is at just under 3000 rpm, 75-78 mph. in overdrive. However, on ...

Re: S-type shop manual photocopy

There are three (3) editions of “3.4 and 3.8 ‘S’ Models Service Manual”, E/133/1, E/133/2 and E/133/3. Jaguar did not do a re-write of the Service Manual for the second edition. Rather, they added the changes that had taken place since the introduction of the ‘S’-type by listing corrections (addenda...

50 years to restore

The “Beauty of the Beast – art- form-function-freedom” exhibit of motorcycles, attached, tells the short story of the 50 years we have owned our 1928 B.S.A. Motor Bicycle 2.49 H.P. “B28” De Luxe The BSA arrived in South Carolina in 2019 and was stored with our stuff from Arizona and Lesli’s from New...
