Did you use the same rivet used on the doors and scuttle on the center bonnet chrome? If not, what did you use?

Got most of the doors and scuttle done. Worked great. Also got the side bonnet chromes on.

Glyn, Wait....I have the kit you ordered. I bought it months ago on your recommendation, but forgot. I was getting ready to mail it back for a refund since it was for the MK 2 and not the S-Type. I cancelled the other rivets that I just ordered. Let's hope they get the message since it is after hour...

Yes, both front doors has the hole.

Saw your previous post on the rivet that you used. Just ordered them from SNG. Thanks. My drivers door has holes and the both rear and passenger door has slots like yours. Does one of your front doors have holes instead of slots?

Is this correct in the first photo?


You can see the clip in the channel of the chrome. It is real loose and falls out easily. How is this going to hold or do I have the wrong clips?

Thanks Rob....so you do use a rivet. Huh, parts manual is wrong. The other chrome part clip is number 16 in the chart below using the plastic clips per the parts manual.

Manual says that BD 9851 is used for the door chrome and the center bonnet chrome. How do you use this clip? With a rivet? Manual does not say a rivet must be used. SNG shows BD9851 with just a clip. XK Unlimited showes bd9851 with a rivet and a clip. If you use the rivet for this clip, how do you a...
