Re: 1967 3.4S Opelescent Maroon

That's a lovely looking car, Philippe and in a great colour. Mine is also opalescent maroon! The yellow fog lights are a really nice authentically French feature. Thanks for taking the time to tell us about it.

Re: gear changing early

Here's a pic of the underside of mine. Not sure how useful it will be. My anti-creep solenoid is hydraulically disconnected - somewhat crudely I admit. Apparently they were fitted because drivers were not used to cars moving without them touching any pedals! How quaint!

Re: Jaguar Festival at Bicester

So sorry to hear about your back, Nigel. That can be so debilitating, as I know only too well. Have you been spending too much time leaning under the bonnet?

I've created a new topic here for the JDC National Day with a few pix: http://jagstyperegister.com/forum_new/v ... f=1&t=1279

Jaguar Drivers Club National Day, 25 July 2021

Hi everyone What a delight it was to attend my first proper Jaguar event since 2019! It's amazing just how much pleasure there is to be had from standing in a field! The venue was Walton Hall Hotel near Warwick. The sun shone and the cars came. Including four S-types. Few pix below for your delectat...

Re: gear changing early

If it's a DG gearbox, I wouldn't be overly surprised if it was in direct drive (top/3rd) by 30 mph, if you were on a gentle throttle. If you want it to hold on to the gears, you'll need to use more throttle. The judder when you take your foot off...gearbox mounts possibly? Or rear brakes binding? Wh...

Thanks, Nigel, for taking the time to post the pix and video. Looks like a good day. Sorry I wasn't able to make it.

I'm aiming to get to the JDC day at Wellesbourne this coming Sunday, 25 July.

Re: Help with a non-starting 3.8

You can remove the interconnecting spindle with the carbs in place, but I've always removed one carb first, then the spindle. There is no special way of removing the lower carb bolts that I'm aware of. Just conventional tools and double-jointedness. You may find a socket on a long extension works fo...

It seemed such a simple pleasure that we took for granted at the time.
