Re: 68 S-Type Bonnet

Good to meet you yesterday, Ian. Hopefully someone here can help. Or knows a man who can.

Re: Suspension misalignment

Just measured my ride height and, according to that FIA document, it's an inch too low all round!

Re: Suspension misalignment

As an addendum to this topic, referring back to discussion in the opening posts about ride height, the FIA Homologation Form https://historicdb.fia.com/sites/default/files/car_attachment/1601073001/homologation_form_number_5017_group_1.pdf does contain a diagram with ride height specified. Re: One-family-owned from new 3.8S

It's been a while, but GUV is still alive and well and living in Scotland. And so am I! It's taken eight months to find somewhere to store it. The place I've found has a heated floor! The only annoying thing is how often it rains up here. Seemingly every time I take the car out! PXL_20220622_2057551...

S-type FIA homologation document, 1966

I came across the FIA homolgation document from 1966. It has some interesting info, plus some nice high-res period photos. Stiff toothbrush or similar, as it looks in pretty good shape already?

Re: uk battery

I bought a Shield period-look battery with hard rubber case. The model is 242. 73Ah. This is my second; the previous one lasted me 7 years. I paid £125 direct from Shield. I have mounted so the terminals are towards the front of the car. Mine is positive earth. Shield-242-13-12v-Classic-Car-Battery1...

Re: Replacement flexible fuel hoses

I used Cohline high spec rubber fuel hose in 7.5mm ID version: https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/high-spec-rubber-fuel-hose-by-cohline-per-metre-2240-0600 . It can cope with E15 fuels. I've had no problems since fitting them four years ago and my boot no longer smells of petrol! PXL_20211014_1054...
