no, that sheath is fine, it is a hard cardboard or similar material "tunnel" through which the wires run to the rear and front. It has a rivetted bracket and the bracket has a foot under one of the D washers. I think it is called a Loom. ??

ohhh, early production, maybe I should attach the later hoist brackets? my XJ-6 has them. or should I dream about finding the Churchill bracket tool? can you still get the spark plug wiring Loom thing? I just looked at SNG and could not find it. Who else might have it? Mine is falling apart if touch...

also found out that the air cleaner bracket Washers are Round, not "D". In my engine, the "D" washers are not on the air cleaner bracket "feet". Also I do not have the engine "hoist pulls". I wonder what happened here. S-type-air-cleaner-bracket-foot-washer.jp...

ok, so I couldn't resist to confirm, my spark plug heads are indeed Lucas , not Champion, you guys are confusing me!! :D One thing I did found out today, the wires need replacing, they actually screw onto the spark plug "heads", their inside is copper wire. The wires are very deteriorated....

not just that but my spark plug ends or "heads" all have LUCAS impressed on them, and I have not seen any other spark plug wires like that.

ok, that settles that question with mine. I had not noticed it levels straight with the data plate. I have removed it several time and it just falls in place once the "mouth" is inserted into the aluminium intake, very easy. my engine also has the stabilizers and I replaced the rubber bush...
