It is good you are adding the extra screen but I also think you will need to clean it weekly to stop it clogging up. A clogged up single screened air filter is going to ruin your air flow diagram. And as for the heat, in the original air filter system there is a hose that runs from the air filter intake to the front by the side of the radiator that draws in cooler air. It is interesting with the dimples but on the photo you have shown with the E Type engine there are no bends and I don't see the point of a bend in the set up of the S type unless you don't think there is enough room between the mouth of the carb and the inner wing. Can't help with the wheels but I do have a set of embellisher rings hanging in my garage which came off my car when I converted to wires. I sold the wheels and the hubcaps but for some reason still have about 6 or 7 embellisher rings left.
