Haven't used one myself but sounds similar to a 123 distributor used by a few members here. Looking at the Moss website it only lists distributors for Mk2's so it might be worth checking the advance curves of this distributor will work with the S Type engine as i don't have any info for Mk2's regard...

It was a long time back when I did the job but I remember the new pipe I had to source was the pump to block plus brackets. My car might be different to to later cars as it was one of the first 500 built and designs might have changed.

That's correct regarding the feed pipes, the 4.2 pump has larger diameter items. Yes, capillary feed. Spools up just as quick as an electrical guage. I'll just add the engine has a high output racing pump fitted and oil pressure runs at about 50lbs hot.
