S-type for sale (interesting price)

Hi,

Just noticed a "cheap" S-type for sale in Belgium.
The pictures and price looks promising.

Re: steering column lock nut

Mistery is solved.
It was my own mistake. The split collets pair should be placed after assembling of the steering column nut.
Lesson learned: Always make more pictures than needed ;)

steering column lock nut

Hi, I have something very strange. After replacement of the bearing at the top of the steering column (#14) steering_column.jpg (this to solve the backlash) I noticed that I can't place the Steering column Lock nut anymore. steering_column_3.jpg steering_column_4.jpg It is only possible when I don't...

scuttle vent

Hi, I noticed that my scuttle vent opens only a little bit when I press the AIR- and HEAT-button both. According the manual pressing the AIR-button only should open the Scuttle vent as well. When I switch off the engine the vent closed immediately. I think it's vacuum problem? Is the reserve tank an...

hazard warning light

Hi,

I never notice this before. But after the fuel problem (see my previous topic) I was looking at my hazard warning light switch.
But I couldn't find it
Does someone knows why there isn't a hazard warning light in my S-type 3.4 (1968)?

Thanks,

Harrie

Re: question about little pipe connections fuel tank

Hi Rob,

About your remark: "my mother always told me never to assume anything"

It's a good advice. Because one of my previous employers has in the 10 rules of the company:
- WE DON'T ASSUME: WE ASK QUESTIONS

Re: question about little pipe connections fuel tank

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your response and your advice to clean those pipes with a flexible steel rod.
I will do that this to be sure that they aren't blocked.

question about little pipe connections fuel tank

Hi, Last week I noticed that the engine of my S-type was stuttering and runs irregular after about 10 minutes driving. Switching to the other fuel tank helps a bit but after a few minutes the engine stutters again. At home I looked at the fuel pumps and they seems ok. But I noticed that on the left ...
