Hi Rob,
thanks for your reply and advice. The engine block is correctly stamped above the oil filter with its serial number. The part number (top of block, carburettor side) is C 22251. The spare parts catalogue (item 1 of plate 1) has C 22291 superseded by C 26449.
My car was put on the road in March 1966, and I believe left the factory around Sept/Oct 1965.
Kind regards.
Philippe

Phillipe I have had a look through the heritage parts catalogues at all the engine block numbers for the Mk2, E Type, S Type, 420 and the Mk1 and cannot find this number in relation to an engine block. David the admin lead on this forum might know but I would call SNG barrett who have a better search engine than I have. Give them the part number you are refering to and they might be able to locate it on their system and tell you what car it applies to. My guess is is just a slight deviation from the S Type block possibly an early engine but you have not put what year your S Type is.

Hi all,
I notice the engine block of my car is stamped C 22251, where the parts catalogue has C 22291.
Seeking further information, I thank in advance for any clue.
Kind regards.
