Mistery is solved.
It was my own mistake. The split collets pair should be placed after assembling of the steering column nut.
Lesson learned: Always make more pictures than needed ;)

steering column lock nut

Hi,

I have something very strange.
After replacement of the bearing at the top of the steering column (#14)

(this to solve the backlash)
I noticed that I can't place the Steering column Lock nut anymore.

It is only possible when I don't place the split collet pair.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Does anyone have an idea of the root cause?

Thanks,

Harrie
