in spanish Cortina means "curtain" or "drapery", so you can imagine the rest of the jokes.

Rover sold quite a few 3500S's on your side of the pond, Jose. Referred to in the factory as NADA's.... = North American Dollar Area.

The headrests are known coloquially in the classic Rover community as "ET's"....for obvious reasons!

(I'll ignore the Cortina reference). :D

that is one hell of a nice car! the headrests are incredible, the engine is beautiful! the body reminds me of a Ford Cortina, are they related? I've never seen those cars in the USA. Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Been a bit of a saga, but the new-build 3.9 now nestles comfortably/threateningly in my Rover 3500S.

Carbs still need a fettle, but this was today's start-up.
